HANTON Managing Partner speaker at INTERMODAL2024 session

Another conference is behind us! This time INTERMODAL2024 SITK. Managing Partner of HANTON Szalc Zięba & Partners legal counsel Michał Zięba, PhD was a speaker during the session of the International Scientific and Technical Conference hashtag#INTERMODAL2024, where he had the pleasure to present the situation of intermodal terminals in the context of property tax.
The 6th edition of the International Scientific and Technical Conference INTERMODAL2024 entitled “Intermodal transport in railways” took place from September 16 to 18 at the Warsaw Dom Technika NOT in Warsaw. “Intermodal transport in rail-sea logistics chains”. The organizers of the event were the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Transportation of the Republic of Poland National Board and the Faculty of Transport of the Warsaw University of Technology. The main theme of this year's conference was intermodal transport in rail-sea logistics chains. A number of topical issues concerning seaport terminals and transshipment terminals in the functioning of cargo streams in the country, as well as their impact on the development of logistics infrastructure (including rail) of intermodal transport were discussed.

The event's agenda consisted of eight plenary sessions, which addressed the following issues:

  • Sea port terminals important links in handling cargo streams in Poland;
  • Sustainable development of port and land terminal infrastructure an important element in building the country's logistics service network;
  • State aid in the new financial perspective and directions of intermodal transport development;
  • IT systems in transport and handling processes and innovative solutions in the transport of intermodal units;
  • Design processes and selection of the best solutions, preparation and implementation of terminal investments-workshops;
  • The importance of the development of port transshipment terminals for the development of logistics infrastructure of regions and Poland.

On the last day, the conference also included a workshop at the Warsaw University of Technology.

The firm was represented at the event by attorney Michał Zięba, PhD Managing Partner of HANTON Szalc Zięba & Partners, who acted as a speaker during the lecture on: “Property Tax Perturbations for Freight Terminals” as part of one of the plenary sessions.
