The international “TSL Industry Congress. Terminals Europe-Asia” organized by the Poland-Asia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce. The event was held on October 16-17 at the Double Tree By Hilton hotel in Warsaw.

The TERMINALS 2024 international event, as announced, turned out to be a place to exchange a huge dose of knowledge, interesting lectures and high-class networking with representatives of the largest TSL industry companies in Poland.

The assumption of the organizers was to create a meeting space for the most important players in the freight transportation market in Europe-Asia-Europe relations, and thus enable participants to establish fruitful contacts and business relations. The congress was aimed primarily at: representatives of seaports and river ports, operators of sea and land transshipment terminals, rail carriers, freight forwarders from China, Central Asian countries, Western Europe and Poland - business entities participating in the organization of transport processes in the Europe - Asia transport corridors. His special guests were Ambassadors of countries located in Eurasian transport corridors accredited in the Republic of Poland.

The discussion of the participants of the two-day event focused on the following thematic areas:

  • Alternative Transportation Routes;
  • Transportation Security;
  • New Investment Opportunities;
  • International Cooperation;
  • New Technologies and Innovations;
  • Regulation and Policy.

We are very pleased to have been able to participate as a partner of this event and a member of the Poland-Asia Chamber of Industry and Commerce led by Janusz Piechocinski.

HANTON Szalc Zięba & Partners Law Firm at TERMINALS2024 was represented by Managing Partners - Attorney at Law Michał Zięba, PhD and Attorney at Law Adam Szalc. On the second day of the event, Attorney Michał Zięba took on the role of moderator of the panel entitled “Security of e-commerce and TSL companies. Transport of special cargo (military, oversized, relocation of industrial technology)”. Participants in the debate included Slawomir Harazin, Vice President, Action S.A.; Mateusz Malczuk, Business Development Manager, REGESTA SA; Monika Rybka, Executive Director, OL-TRANS Transport and Forwarding.

The panelists' discussion addressed the following questions:

  • What are the main risks associated with the transportation of military cargo, oversized cargo and industrial technology?
  • How can TSL companies minimize the risks associated with transporting critical cargo?
  • What technologies (GPS monitoring, sensors, security systems) are used to protect high-risk cargo?
  • What are the best practices for physically securing such shipments?
  • What international and domestic regulations govern the transportation of military and oversized cargo?
  • How do TSL companies need to adapt to the changing legal requirements in this area?

We would like to thank the Organizers: the Polish-Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, AP Lock Sp. z o.o. and the Participants for their commitment and involvement in an important economic and social debate. We hope that the past “TSL Industry Congress. Europe-Asia Terminals” is just a good beginning and a harbinger of cyclical meetings, the organization of which will contribute to strengthening the resilience of the Eurasian corridor, as well as promoting stability and cooperation between the regions.
