HANTON Law Firm participant in the International Railway and Intermodal Congress

We could not miss this event - HANTON Szalc Zięba & Partners participated in the International Railway and Intermodal Congress in Wisla. At the same time we would like to thank the Organizers (OLTIS Group ProKolej Foundation and První Signální, a.s.) for the invitation.

The 13th edition of one of the most important events in the TSL industry integrating the Polish and Czech railroad industry is now underway. The International Railway and Intermodal Congress began on March 6 and will continue until Friday. Congress organizers have divided the program into two thematic blocks:

  • Rail Block dedicated to the topic of rail transportation, specifically:
  • Rail Traffic Control and Management;
  • Financing, PROCEDURES and Railway Development;
  • Infrastructure and Investment;
  • Marketing of passenger and freight transportation.
  • Intermodal block dedicated to intermodal supply chain solutions, including:
  • Baltic, Adriatic, Black Sea-new markets and directions for intermodal transport and seaports;
  • Modal shift from declaration to implementation- technological, infrastructural and financial perspective;
  • Plan for the years- investment needs of the intermodal industry in the new EU financial perspective;
  • Development of technology and digitalization in intermodal transport.

One of the speakers at the congress is Michal Zięba, PhD, Managing Partner of HANTON Szalc Zięba & Partners, who on the first day had the opportunity to lead a legal and fiscal workshop on the topic of “Sanctions and restrictions for rail transport resulting from the war in Ukraine.” On the other hand, today attorney Michał Zięba, PhD took on the role of moderator of the morning panel discussion entitled: “Financing, Procedures, Competitiveness”. During the panel, the speech of Mr. Maciej Gladyga, representing the Economic Chamber of Land Transport, presenting the assumptions of the draft legislative changes ensuring better financing of the railroad sector, proved particularly interesting. The Railway Fund should be reformed!

The International Railway and Intermodal Congress is undoubtedly a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in the transport sector, as well as to establish valuable business relationships and look at the industry from a different perspective.
