Transport, freight forwarding and logistics

Transport, freight forwarding and logistics

Due to our professional experience, the transport, freight forwarding and logistics sector are one of the key sectors at HANTON. We advise on matters concerning access to the freight forwarding market as well as road and railway transport. We support our Clients in purchasing properties for logistics centers, warehouses and in the process of acquiring transport facilities such as locomotives, flatbeds, tractor units and semitrailers.

We comprehensively support the processes of financing the acquisition of rights to property and transport facilities as well as the conclusion of forwarding, transport, storage, sale, rent, loan, financial and operational leasing agreements. We prepare regulations and internal regulations for the implementation of transport and ordering the forwarding service.

HANTON lawyers have unique experience in the settlement of large-scale losses resulting from accidents and serious accidents in the railway sector. After an accident and damage occurred, we take care of securing the interests of railway carriers, rolling stock owners, and entities responsible for the maintenance of rolling stock (ECM). We effectively exercise the right of recourse from the actual perpetrators and entities who contributed to the occurrence of the damage and  its increase in size. We negotiate with insurance companies the terms of compensation payments and prepare optimal programs of proceedings after damage to own assets or transported goods.

Operating in favor of insurance companies, we prepare legal opinions on the legitimacy of compensation payments and their amount, develop recourse strategies and represent Clients in courts of all instances. We represent Clients in the course of public and private tenders as well as we provide services to Clients ordering resources necessary to conduct their  businesses.

We support Clients in obtaining funds from the European Union budget and support them in the preparation of applications for additional funding addressed to the Centre for EU Transport Projects. After the funds are granted, we support competitive purchasing procedures and advise on the settlement of the granted financing.

We provide legal services in proceedings pending before the President of the Office of Rail Transport [PL: Prezes Urzędu Transportu Kolejowego], the Chief Inspector of Road Transport [PL: Główny Inspektor Transportu Drogowego] and the President of the Civil Aviation Authority [PL: Prezes Urzędu Lotnictwa Cywilnego]. HANTON lawyers also provide legal assistance to Clients representing them before PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (as well as other railway infrastructure managers) and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways [PL: Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad] and other roads authorities.
